Challenge: Reduce cost for demineralizing 35 gpm of municipal water; eliminate role of plant personnel in operating system
A project engineer in an intensely competitive industry seeks alternative to service deionization (SDI) provided by an off-site vendor. Current system requires plant personnel to monitor water quality and manually switch “banks” of SDI tanks upon exhaustion. Reduction in force makes it increasingly difficult for the customer to operate and maintain the current system. The project engineer chooses to outsource the high purity water treatment.
WaterProfessionals® specified, built, delivered, installed, owned and operated the RO DI system. The new system delivers 35 gpm of 12 megohms/cm high quality deionized water, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The customer made no capital investment, realized immediate savings and eliminated all involvement of their own plant personnel in the water treatment process.
